Karssemakers behaalt eerste Top 10 klassering van het seizoen in GP MX2 in Almonte, Spanje.

“Het was een heel positief weekend voor ons in Almonte; ik was erg tevreden over hoe Kay in alle sessies heeft gereden.
Hij liet vanaf het begin een sterke snelheid zien met een solide kwalificatieresultaat en zette dat door in beide manches. Om in de eerste race een top tien te behalen en in de tweede race zelfs richting de top zes te strijden, met competitieve rondetijden gedurende de hele race, toont echt de vooruitgang die hij boekt.
We werken nog steeds met een vergelijkbare opstelling als vorig seizoen, dus de verbeteringen die we zien zijn echt te danken aan Kay en de inzet die hij zowel op als naast de fiets heeft getoond. Hij zit er momenteel goed in en blijft zich in de juiste richting ontwikkelen.
Het team heeft het hele weekend uitstekend werk geleverd en de Kawasaki presteerde feilloos onder de veeleisende omstandigheden. "Mijn beste GP ooit! Ik was gisteren al blij met mijn negende plaats in de kwalificatie en vandaag reed ik ook in de eerste manche weer goed, vlak achter Resulis, en eindigde als tiende. In de tweede manche reed ik zelfs nog beter met goede rondetijden en zat ik heel dicht bij de top zes, dus daar was ik tevreden mee. Nu wil ik in de loop van het seizoen nog verder komen."

“It was a really positive weekend for us in Almonte; I was very pleased with the way Kay rode across all sessions.
He showed strong speed from the outset with a solid qualifying result, and then carried that into both motos. To come away with a top ten in the first race and then be pushing towards the top six in the second, with competitive lap times throughout, really shows the progress he’s making.
We’re still working from a similar setup to last season, so the improvements we’re seeing are a real credit to Kay and the effort he’s been putting in both on and off the bike. He’s in a good place at the moment and continuing to develop in the right direction.
The team did an excellent job all weekend, and the Kawasaki ran faultlessly in what were demanding conditions, so a big thank you to all of our product sponsors for their continued support on the track, and all our sponsors for helping us get to each race, it really makes a difference at this level.

"My best-ever GP! I was already happy with my ninth in Qualifying yesterday and I was riding good again in the first moto today, right behind Resulis all moto, to finish tenth. I was riding even better in the second moto with good lap times and I was really close to the top-six so I was happy with that. Now I'm looking to progress even further as the season develops."
